C-XEX base wax is formulated using an ionic approach to friction reduction. Our unconventionally hard micro-crystalline and hydrocarbon wax blend is highly modified by the addition of our proprietary ceramic nano-particle compounds. These ultra-tiny particle complexes (several billionths of a meter across) have an unusually high surface area and are many times smaller than the wax crystals themselves.
Very complex manufacturing technologies are required in order to produce and safely work with any particles in this size domain. By contrast, applying C-XEX base wax and enjoying the phenomenal result, could not be any easier.
Firmly rubbing it on to any clean base will form a tough thixotropic wax coating that wears at an extremely slow rate. C-XEX wax is also insensitive to changes in temperature and snow conditions.
Typical Hot Waxing techniques may be used but will consume considerably more product with only a small increase in satisfaction.

C-XEX SURFACE TECHNOLOGY
C-XEX base wax is formulated using an ionic approach to friction reduction. Our unconventionally hard micro-crystalline and hydrocarbon wax blend is highly modified by the addition of our proprietary ceramic nano-particle compounds. These ultra-tiny particle complexes (several billionths of a meter across) have an unusually high surface area and are many times smaller than the wax crystals themselves. Because of our proprietary processes and compounds -The resulting composite can be formulated to shear at very precise energy levels that are independent of the base temperature.
The ceramic composite coating that results from applying this compound forms a strongly bonded matrix with unmatched durability and performance across all temperature extremes.

THE C-XEX DIFFERENCE
All “conventional” Hydrocarbon base wax formulations work to provide a friction reduction in much the same way - By providing a sacrificial layer of soft material between the base of a ski or snowboard and the aggressive texture of the snow crystals themselves. A wide range of abrasive snow crystal types are encountered across the varying mountain conditions as a result of snow temperature, altitude and ambient relative humidity.
The other manufacturers of these conventional base wax preparations offer products that differ in hardness and composition in order to accommodate the temperature and snow conditions that work best with each formulation. Both high and low concentrations of Fluorocarbon additives may also be used by these other various manufacturer's to help further reduce the friction component that is present in a few of the mountain snow extremes.
Unfortunately, these conventional wax formulations remain relatively soft and wear at an accelerated rate. Additionally, the Fluoro-additive packages are more ideally suited for specific mountain and snow conditions and they may not perform quite as well as the conditions change.
